Agalloch was my favorite band for a really, really long time, and maybe they still are, maybe not, but I'll always appreciate them for the importance they've had in shaping my musical taste. Having thankfully seen them at one of their last-ever performances is probably one of my proudest lacks of regret, if that makes sense. Deciding to write my first Getting Into, there was really no second-guessing as to which band I would dedicate it to.

Is independent, unsigned, and underground metal what you seek? Weary traveller of the metal world, rest a while here. Clandestine Cuts are the best demos and EPs from these bands, the heart and soul of metal music. These musicians are slaves to their passions, and their blood keeps the metal machine alive and turning. Support them with a simple listen, and discover the future. This issue features music from In Victory, ESP Mayhem, Isles Of Mars, Naartz, Ikarus & Maul.

The next edition of the concert blog series is here again, getting close to an inevitable end. It's two gigs reviews as usual, this time mixing the genres a little bit. Australian melodic hardcore / punk rock performers Clowns have the first word; the next stop, which was (coincidentally) on the same day as the first one, features the American stoner doom destroyers Conan.

We here at Metal Storm pride ourselves on our thousands of metal reviews and interviews and article; metal is our collective soul and passion, which is why we bother with this junk. That being said, we'd be lying if we stuck to our trve-kvlt guns and claimed that metal is the only thing we ever listen to. Whether we want to admit it or not, we do check out some other stuff from time to time.
