Take it to its nest which is west of the entrance to the passage. Go back to Baicah and he'll buy it for 2000 dynes PLUS will give you 5 speed chips. Near the end of disk 4, when An'jou returns, he'll give you a Berserk Vampire worth 10,000 dynes. On disk 3, in the Holy District, talk to Quitor repeatedly. When all three birds have gotten home safely, the family leaves and you can pick up the cure. Panzer dragoon saga worth. There are two other birds, one to the south-west of the nest and one to the east of the passage.

Drawings, Casting and Bar stock

Once I had decided to go for a traction engine as my next project I had to pick which one I was going to make, so I started buying books and mags to see what was a round and of course searching the internet. I sent off a few emails to suppliers to get some recommendations based on the equipment I had but, to be honest, the responses weren't desperatelyhelpful. I started to home in on the 3' Little Samson model , the casting being available from Edward George, whose book 'Scale Model Traction Engine Design and Construction' I had brought and read cover to cover, (and still is used very very regularly). I even brought the drawings to see if there was anything that I thought 'that's beyond me'. Finally I started to talk to people who owned models at local Steam Shows, including the 'Great Dorset Steam Fair' and I'm glad I did. They all tended to be very friendly and chatty but the message came across loud and clear, if you want to run the model, (which I did), the bigger models are much easier to steam and thus you should build one that is the biggest you can get away with on the equipment you have to build it.
As part of the costing process I needed to find out the cost of a boiler which was going to be a major part of the expense of the model, I wasn't going to even try and make this myself. Bell Boilers is based close to where I live so I drove over there and spent a very useful hour talking to Wayne Bell. As well as getting a budget price for different boilers he gave another piece of advice that I took to heart, being the first model I had built start with a simple one, not a showmans or ploughing engine, (common sense really!). He suggested a single cylinder model, probably Foster or Burrell.
I then started to look at the 4' Foster, a couple of the bits were too big for my little 6' Lathe, but I thought I could get around that some way or other. A visit to Live Steam Models just outside Derby was in order and given it isn't too far from where the mother-in-law lives I thought we could kill two birds with one stone. So another hour was spent talking to Andrew at LSM and I decided, there and then, to buy ALL of the casting etc most of which were in stock. We loaded about 200kg of bits and pieces into the boot of the car and we were off!
Some of the casting including the crankshaft.
Here's the Cylinder, trunk guide, fire grate and some other bits
The Smoke box parts incluing the name ring and motif
The rims, flywheel, final drive gear with the winch drum just visible
The wheel parts including the hubs, spokes and hub caps
The tender back plate plus the spude pan and ring
The tender side plates
Given that I wasn't going to start this project before completing the one I already had in progress I had plenty of time to prepare the project, so the first thing I did was spent hours trawling over each of the 20+ drawings creating a parts list from which I generated a materials list, what bar stock and fastenings/fittings were required. There was about 2400 bits required, luckily only 650 bits to machine/make. From this materials list I, once again, decided to buy the entire bar stock in one go, (you never know when 'she who must be obeyed' might put her foot down and say enough is enough). I'm sure I will have got some things wrong but you can never have enough bar stock...
